Meet Ch. Foxfyre Goldie, “Jazz”, owned by CathyAnn Litwin. Jazz was bred by Mary Ann Foxwell, from the well known Foxfyre Kennels. I brought this beautiful little red girl home to Rockback in April 1993. Jazz is my foundation bitch and I could not be more thankful to MaryAnn for giving me this wonderful girl to begin a breeding program.
Jazz started her show career at the ECSCA National in 1995 under the careful guidance of Karen Fitzpatrick thrilling us with a First Place in the Open Solid Bitch Class under breeder judge Mary Ann Alston.
Jazz continued her winning ways with Karen by going Winners Bitch and Best of Winners for a 3 point major under judge Frank Washabaugh at the Cape Cod Kennel Club Show, February 5, 1995.
In August of 1996, I decided to start my breeding program. Jazz was bred to the handsome Ch. Dawnglow Dreammaker, “Dreamer”. October 18, 1996 Jazz presented Rockback with our first litter of nine red puppies!!! WOW. True to form, Jazz became a fabulous mother.
In late 1997, since Jazz only needed a major win and a few points she went to live at Wyncrest where she was expertly handled by Barbara Heckerman to her championship at the Muncie Kennel Club on February 1, 1998, under judge Janice Knight. Jazz became the first solid champion at Rockback..
Early 1998, Jazz was bred again. This time to the beautiful black and tan dog, Ch. Hobbithill McMurphy’s Optimum CD, “Dexter”, owned by Lesley Andrews. On May 14, 1998, Jazz gave another stellar performance and delivered seven puppies to Rocback. This time we had 2 black boys, 1 black girl, 2 red boys, and 2 red girls. The black bitch stayed at Rockback, and named Rockback You Won’t Forget Me, “Pearl”.
The last time Jazz entered the show ring she was nine years old. She competed in the Veteran Class at the ECSCA National, 2001, held that year in Reading, Pennsylvania. Jazz placed in her class under breeder judge Virginia Lyne.
Jazz was a great little English Cocker. Everything she did in her life was at full tilt....being a show dog, an outstanding brood bitch, professional squirrel chaser, keeping her kids, grand-kids and great-grand-kids in line. Most important she was the best companion dog anyone could ever wish for. We were so lucky to have this wonderful little red dog in our lives. Rockback lost Jazz on August 31, 2008, at the grand age of 16. Ch. Foxfyre Goldie will forever be remembered in so many wonderful ways.
